  2.        Congratulations  on your acquisition of File/Archive. We hope you 
  3.        find  it  useful.   As  you  will  see  in  the  license, you are 
  4.        acquiring  the  right  to  use  this  product; you do not own it.  
  5.        Since  this  program  is offered as a shareware program, you need 
  6.        to  register  your  copy of the system in order to become a fully 
  7.        supported,  registered  user.   When  you  register  your copy of 
  8.        File/Archive  by  remitting  the registration fee of $50, we will 
  9.        send  you a registered copy of the programs containing the latest 
  10.        updates,  a  printed  copy  of the complete documententation, and 
  11.        add  you to our list of registered users.  (Indiana residents add 
  12.        5%  sales  tax  - $2.50.)  You will then be entitled to telephone 
  13.        support  for  any  problems or questions that may arise.  We will 
  14.        also  notify  you  as  new  releases  become  available.  Several 
  15.        additional  enhancements  are already under development.  We also

  25.        After  you  have  installed  File/Archive,  there  will be a file 
  26.        called  LICENSE.DOC  which  contains  the license agreement and a 
  27.        file  called  FORM.DOC  containing  a  form  which may be used to 
  28.        register  your  copy  of File/Archive.  Just print the file, fill 
  29.        out the registration form, and send it in with your fee.

  91.                                 GETTING STARTED
  92.

  94.        File/Archive  may  be  installed  on  your  hard  disk  using the 
  95.        automatic  installation procedure provided.  It assumes that your 
  96.        hard  disk is drive C: and will install the system in a directory 
  97.        called  FILARC.   IT  GIVES YOU THE OPPORTUNITY TO OVERRIDE THESE 
  98.        PARAMETERS  IF  YOU WISH.  It will also create two batch files in 
  99.        the  root  directory  of  drive  C:, but again, will give you the 
  100.        opportunity  to  override this.  IT WILL NOT INSTALL ANY OF THESE 
  101.        FILES IF ANY ONE OF THEM ALREADY EXISTS.

  112.        This  system automatically determines when backups should be made 
  113.        and  reminds  you whenever you turn on your computer or ask it to 
  114.        check  the  status  of  backups.   You  can  set different backup 
  115.        criteria   for  any  combination  of  directories  or  files  and 
  116.        File/Saver  only  tells  you  about  those files/directories that 
  117.        currently  should be backed up.  If nothing needs backing up when

  127.        never  have  to  worry  about  the  hassle  of  remembering to do 
  128.        backups   because   File/Saver   automatically   tells  you.   It 
  129.        maintains  a  complete  history  of  backup activity, which disks 
  130.        contain  which  backed  up  files,  and allows you to review this 
  131.        information  on  screen  or produce a printed report.  The system

  140.        Are  you  in  an office that could be broken into on weekends and 
  141.        your  computer  stolen?   Are  you  in an open office where other 
  142.        individuals  might  turn  on  your computer while you're away and 
  143.        use   your   confidential  or  proprietary  data?   The  Guardian 
  144.        presents  a signon menu every time you turn on your computer and, 
  145.        if  you  don't  properly  identify yourself, it "locks" the disk, 
  146.        making  all  files untouchable.  Only you have the tool to unlock 
  147.        it.   In  case someone knows that you have a security system, you 
  148.        might  fear that they will boot your computer from a diskette and 
  149.        then  go  roaming through your hard disk.  No problem.  Just call 
  150.        up  The Guardian and tell it to lock your disk before you leave - 
  151.        presto,  you're  protected.   When  your disk is locked, know one 
  152.        can  access  your  files  or  even  see what files are there.  It 
  153.        takes  less  than a second to lock or unlock a hard disk and just 
  154.        a little bit longer for diskettes.
